I have been in Görlitz since 2018 and have accompanied ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN ever since. The festival enables what seems difficult by giving courageous makers the necessary means to dare something new. By means of artistic positions, social exchange is stimulated and Görlitz’s urban society is inspired. Exactly the right combination that is needed for the challenges of the coming years.

Zukunftsvisionen 2022 - Jakobstraße 2

The ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN festival has been taking place at various abandoned locations in Görlitz since 2007. Since its founding, it has addressed structural change in Görlitz and Lusatia and thus, among other things, the ageing of society, migration, vacancies and the rise of right-wing parties.

ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN was born out of the need to give expression to the potential of the city’s vacant buildings and the ideas of young cultural practitioners. Over time, an art exhibition developed into a festival lasting several days, with concerts, parties, performances, discussions and workshops.

Over the years, the festival has not only become a platform for regional and international artists of the contemporary visual arts, but also a centre of engagement in the region for the region.

our Team

… is the core of the whole project. Besides school, studies and job, they organise the whole festival in countless hours of voluntary work. Without the team there would be no ZuVi.

The Zukunftsvisionen are operated by the NCCA e.V., which has set itself the task of promoting the visual and performing arts in Görlitz and connecting the numerous actors with each other.
